Well, this volume of the series has been a real pain in the ass to produce, on every level except the creative. First, Windows Movie Maker refused to render my carefully-prepared timeline as a single Wmv file - kept hanging at 90 percent. An online forum suggested that I save half the movie separately, then reincorporate it in a new timeline. But the damn program still wouldn't render. So I figured out that there might be an offending clip, found a likely candidate, converted it to Avi, split it in half, and reimported it. Maybe that fixed it, or maybe Movie Maker just decided to play nice, but at last I was able to produce a complete Wmv version. Then, when I tried to convert it to Avi with Magic Video Converter, it repeatedly crashed about a quarter of the way in. Finally I was able to convert it to a four-gig AVI file using Quick Media Converter. This produced a version which Magic Video Converter could ultimately render to AVI at a manageable file size. Phew.
Reviewing the final results, it doesn't seem that all this mulching affected video quality, and I reckon this is the hottest and sloppiest installment yet of our series. Enjoy. I will reseed Volumes 1-5 for those who missed them, and will also get around to answering some of the email enquiries that have piled up about specific performers and movies. Feedback is always appreciated. Volume 7 is in preparation - let's hope all the bugs are worked out now.
