Peter plays Helmut, a thinly veiled version of Peter himself, who befriends a young blind boy on the street. The blind boy's active imagination places Peter/Helmut in a series of elaborate fantasy set pieces, including encounters with men in a photographer's studio, at the gym, in a bar, and so on. Dressed in his famous black leather jacket and skin-tight white pants, Berlin poses and cruises his way around San Francisco's Polk Street and South of Market areas, encountering his many admirers and plenty of steamy action.
That Boy serves up a tasty helping of Peter Berlin along with a rare glimpse of gay San Francisco in the early 1970s. Watch for members of the famous Cockettes and Angels of Light playing colorful street characters and bar denizens.
Also included on this Special Edition are two short films Peter made in the mid-1970s which were originally sold as 8mm reels by mail order. "Search" features Peter cruising himself at the Russian River. "Blueboys" is an incredibly hot two-part encounter between Berlin and his long-time friend, who went under the porn name Marc Majors. In a special treat for Berlin fans, the Special Edition contains four selections of raw footage from the hundreds of hours of never-before released film and video footage Berlin has amassed.
